Description:
New 2008 Although this wonderful fruit is normally associated with the mediterranean you can now grow these highly decorative plants very successfully in the UK. Picholine is an almond shaped olive that has a medium green smooth appearance. Often used as a green table olive or to make a useful olive oil. Makes an attractive and productive addition to the patio. Supplied as 60cm tall plants.
Growing Instructions
Olives can be grown in garden borders or containers, but must be placed in a hot dry spot. Attractive small white flowers are produced in May to June followed by small green fruits that will be ready to harvest in December or January. Crops best in the southern parts of UK.
Kitchen Notes
Raw Olives must be cured before they can be eaten, so we recommend that these fruits are crushed to produce a wonderful olive oil. |
